Hotel Ristorante Amitrano

We had to leave our first room because it was dark and dingy, and none of its power sockets worked. The next room had only one working socket, and the power tripped several times. We were staying with our Intrepid group tour from Rome to Amalfi. The family who own and run the hotel were rude and argumentative. Honestly, it was the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in, even compared with some terrible places in third world countries.

The street was peaceful but still lively, with plenty of people to watch go by, and our room stayed quiet. The AC worked well, and I enjoyed both the room and the food at the restaurant during our two night stay. It’s old school, but I’d come back.

The owners and staff really helped us out after the hotel I’d booked appeared to have been closed for over a month. They found us rooms at the last minute and were genuinely kind. The place was clean and had a good breakfast. It’s in the heart of Pompeii, about five minutes on foot from the Cathedral and another five to the Archaeological part of the city entrance. Many thanks to everyone. I recommend this hotel.

Never again. The toilets didn’t work, and they did nothing to repair the WC. They spent 30 minutes telling us we didn’t know how to use a toilet. The decor was very old, the staff were unpleasant and lied to us, and breakfast wasn’t good. Definitely don’t stay here.
