Pompei Suite

I wish we’d stayed more than one night. The hotel had been newly remodeled and was tastefully decorated, attractive, and comfortable. We could walk to nice restaurants and felt safe walking at night. Our host, Alonzo, was welcoming and generous. In the morning, Alfonso brought us an Italian breakfast with pastries, fruit, and espresso. A great experience near the archaeological site, highly recommended.

Pompei Suites is a bit outside the city centre, about a 20-minute walk, which made it quiet and peaceful after busy days at the ruins. Alfonso welcomed us and showed us to the lovely, clean, spacious Giovanni suite. We were three and had a single bed and a double in the bedroom, plus a sofa bed in the living room that our daughter preferred. The shower was amazing, the beds were comfy, and there was air con in the bedroom and a fan in the living area. The balcony had a fantastic view of mount versuvious. Alfonso brought us tasty breakfast each morning, with croissant and pastry, coffee and juice. We needed taxis because my mum has mobility issues, and they worked out a bit expensive at €20 for each 10-minute ride, so I’d suggest walking if you can. There’s a brilliant supermarket about five minutes away on foot, but it closes between 1.30 and 5pm. We’d definitely stay again and recommend Pompei Suites to anyone visiting Pompei. Alfonso and his wife made our stay such a good one. They cooked meals for us, shared really useful information, drove us to pompei, and even took our suitcases to the station. We couldn’t have asked for better service. The room was clean and tidy, and we enjoyed the lovely pool. Would definitely recommend.

Pompeii is walkable, but after a full day on those stones, having Sonia and Alfonso’s shuttle was invaluable. They were always around for questions and restaurant suggestions, and Alfonso even came with us to the nearby market to get snacks for our littles. They’re the best hosts we’ve ever had, so welcoming and helpful. I only wish we could have stayed longer. Can’t say enough good things about this place!
