We were there in October, when the town seemed quiet and almost empty. We were only staying because Pontasieve was the first stop on our Camino San Francesco route from Florence to Rome, so I can't say why else you'd choose it. The rooms were clean, and getting in was fairly easy with the phone entry system and codes. There isn't much more to say about the place.
