The staff were nice, the hotel sits by the piste, and the boot room and spa were good, though the spa costs extra. The mountain huts were good and not expensive too. But the hotel is badly described and sold as five star when it definitely isn't. We joined friends who'd already booked and got a tiny standard room. The shower was ridiculous, you couldn't turn around in it, and our friends with better rooms found ours hilarious. The lights kept tripping as well. Meals were chaotic, with long queues at breakfast and dinner, coffee machines that kept breaking, and kids running everywhere. I'm sure families may like it, but they should have two sittings, one for families with children and a later one for other guests. The food was average at best. The hotel is next to the piste, but getting up there means climbing four flights of stairs. We'd just returned from Passo Tonale and the Gran Paradiso with Crystal. The skiing suits beginners and intermediates, but more advanced skiers could cover it in a couple of days and want more. There's heavy reliance on canon snow, which was disappearing quickly as we left, and the slopes get very busy with locals at weekends. The transfer from Verona takes 2 hours 45 minutes, which isn't pleasant. Serious skiers should look elsewhere. It could work for families, but should be marketed as a family hotel. With the food and mealtimes, it's not for anyone wanting decent meals and civilised dining. Would we return? Definitely not.

We had a great stay and might come back, mainly because of the location and half-board. The hotel is right by the slopes, the best location we've seen recently. Breakfast and dinner had good variety and plenty of food. We hadn't expected drinks to be included at dinner, but there was red wine by the bottle, white wine on tap, and beer on tap. The modern bar and foyer looked great, though our room didn't match the communal spaces. The TV couldn't connect to the internet, and there was no kettle for tea or coffee. The gym was basic but usable. Other hotels let guests use the pool without a fee and charge only for treatments.

The room was spacious and modern, with a lovely mountain view from the balcony, and there were plenty of comfortable places to sit in the big open areas downstairs. The location was perfect, making it easy to pop in for lunch. Staff were amazing, genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the freshly prepared food was excellent. Drinks at meals had a good selection and came with a smile. Crystal's rep service and the childcare at the hotel were also great. The whole holiday in paradiso with crystal ski was perfect, and we'll be looking forward to coming back.

The hotel is so close to the slopes that we didn't have to watch the clock for shuttle times. We’ve just got home from a week's skiing and had a fantastic stay. Our room had wonderful views, a large freestanding bath, a double shower, and double sinks. Everyone was helpful and pleasant, especially in the ski shop, and the staff went above and beyond. I had a really good time and would come back if I get the chance. The pool and sauna were lovely and well cared for. Staff were mostly very friendly, the food was beautiful, and the rooms were comfortable and a good size. It's also a great base for getting to the slopes and ski school early.
