Il Poggio di Traverde

We had a lovely welcome from Fausta and Stella, two warm and friendly sisters. The place is surrounded by greenery and feels wonderfully peaceful. Breakfast was excellent, especially the homemade cakes and jams. Highly recommend Poggio. Greetings from Raffaella, Roberto, and Evelyn.

The terrace at night is the highlight. With no lights and complete quiet, it feels like sitting beneath a natural planetarium. Inside, our room was a little cramped, though the outdoor space made up for it. The house sits in a small green village and is run by two lovely sisters, who are great company if you want to talk about life in the Lunigiana region. Everything was very clean, and breakfast came with excellent homemade cakes. There's an easy hour's walk to another beautiful village, though the route follows a paved road rather than a forest trail. The woods are currently impassable as nature is reclaiming them, but the road still runs through the trees, with stretches of sun and shade.

The owners were so thoughtful, kind, and always happy to suggest places to go. They even made homemade cookies with my allergies in mind. The B&B is also well placed for getting to both the coast and the mountains without a long journey. I spent four lovely days here, and it's a stay I'll remember for a long time.

Breakfast was a real treat, with homemade cakes, jams, and preserves, and the owners welcomed us warmly. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and keen to help even the most curious traveler. The location is peaceful and charming, only a few kilometers from Pontremoli, one of Lunigiana's most beautiful villages. Our room was clean, functional, and fine. The bathroom was only adequate for my taste: it had a curtain but no shower stall or tray, and nowhere to put shower gel or shampoo. The towels and bath sheets were acceptable, though the sheets weren't 100% cotton. Recommended for couples.
