Hotel Balocco

The staff were excellent, friendly, and ready to help, and breakfast had plenty of choices. The pool area was lovely, with spectacular views of the sea and Porto Cervo. The rest of the hotel is attractive, though the rooms have that slightly old-fashioned feel of a typical Italian hotel.

The room cleaning was spot on, with thoughtful little details, and the whole hotel stayed spotless. From arrival onward, the team made us feel welcome and helped make the holiday go smoothly. They arranged a late checkout, taxis, restaurant bookings, and suggested their favorite excursions. Hotel Balocco is a great find above Porto Cervo. You can walk to the impressive Port and Marina, with several high-quality restaurants along the way. The calm, classy decor, good food and drinks, and professional, helpful staff gave the place a relaxed feel. Breakfast was included and was incredible. The restaurant overlooks the hotel’s own bio-garden, the Port and Marina, and the sea. We especially liked the local meats and cheeses with honey, plus the homemade pastries.

The hotel itself was excellent, with lovely views, a nice setting, and pleasant, helpful staff. Breakfast offered good variety and was kept well stocked, and the breakfast room had nice views too. The walk into town is a bit of a trek, with a rough, unlit stretch of path, but the hotel was worth it.

The property is stunning, with panoramic views that are hard to match, and our room was jaw-dropping. We loved the food and the unusual, relaxing atmosphere. The staff were so friendly and gave us great suggestions for places to eat and things to do. This might be my favorite hotel anywhere. We’ll definitely come back, hopefully soon.
