Bed and Breakfast Casa Alba Salentina

The location is great for a walk through the historic center, and there’s a nice terrace with armchairs and a clothesline. Casa Salentina is family-run, with the owner living downstairs; they were kind, attentive, and helpful. The room was comfortable and had a kitchen, but there were no pots or pans. The mattresses weren’t very comfortable, and everything really needs a full renovation. We had a bit of trouble with mosquitoes that evening, though they brought us plates the next day. Breakfast had plenty of sweet and savory food, with cappuccinos and coffee. Parking is free on the street but isn’t reserved, so you may not find a space near the B&B in the evening.

The beach is a long way from the property, so the location isn’t convenient if you’re going to the sea. Inside, there was a strong smell of mold, and the furniture was dusty. The headboard was crumbling onto the sheets. Breakfast was terrible. One star, though it deserves zero!

The harbor is about a ten to fifteen minute walk away. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the owner personally makes sure they stay that way. Breakfast was very good, though it wasn’t quite what I’d expect by typical German standards. It’s quiet and tidy here, and I’d definitely come back.

We ended up staying three extra days, from July 17th through the 20th, after originally planning to leave on the 17th. Our stay from July 7th was wonderful, and we didn’t want to go home. Desirée and Natalia were always ready to help with anything, and the cleaning staff were fantastic too. Breakfast was wonderful, with traditional pastries, pizzas, savory focaccias, fruit, and delicious coffee and cappuccinos. Everyone was courteous and friendly, and everything was clean. The location is great, near the center and beaches, and bikes make getting around a breeze. We had such a lovely time and highly recommend the place. Thanks again, see you soon ♥️♥️♥️♥️
