The location is about as good as it gets, right in the centre of Porto Cesareo. The rooms are beautiful and everything is very well organised. Service was perfect.

Getting around on foot was easy from this spot in central Porto Cesareo, with everything just steps away. The downside is parking: there isn’t any at the property, and the available parking is 500 metres away, about a 10-minute walk. My room was small but adequate, with a double bed, shower, hairdryer, mini-fridge, TV, and a little terrace. The TV remote didn’t work, and the single wardrobe felt small for two people, though there isn’t much room to spare. Check-in starts after 3:00 PM, and you have to go to their office 500 metres from the B&B, though it wasn’t specified where. Breakfast is served behind the B&B. It was good, but very limited: a croissant and coffee. If you can’t drink coffee, all you get instead is a small bottle of water, with no juice or anything else included. Housekeeping was disappointing. Over 14 days they came just three times to clean, replace towels and top up toilet paper, and one of those visits only happened because I asked.

We couldn’t sleep in the room after finding a huge cockroach on the wall when we returned that evening. It took several tries to kill it, and we spent the night outside until we could go to the agency in the morning. We tried calling the nighttime emergency numbers, but nobody helped. The owners have apparently banned photos in reviews, which already says something about how seriously they take things. When we first arrived, it was quiet and not perfectly clean, but acceptable. The key arrangements were inconvenient too, since you have to visit the agency to collect the keys at check-in and return them at check-out. In the morning we explained what happened and asked for a refund, since we’d barely used the room. They wouldn’t return even half the total cost because we had used the bathroom. An experience I’d rather forget. Sleeping on the street would have been better.

There was a cockroach on the wall, and after a hard time killing it, I ended up spending the night outside. Sottocosta agency was badly organised. We even called the emergency number to try to sort it out, but got nowhere. They gave back almost half the room cost, apparently just because we’d used the bathroom.
