Villa Domizia

The location has a beautiful view, and since we were on a motorbike it was easy for us to get around. I can’t say much about buses or other transport. My husband and I stopped here during a long trip around Italy and were completely taken with the hotel. The pool and outdoor beds were lovely. We went for a swim right after check-in, and with that view it felt like heaven. Our standard double room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed and charging ports on both sides. There was a huge Samsung TV opposite the bed, but it wouldn’t connect to the internet, so we didn’t really use it. The bathroom was clean, with a roomy shower and a hair dryer, plus towels, slippers, and a really comfortable bathrobe. The staff were polite and helpful when we needed information. One person in the restaurant was a bit rude, but everyone else was very nice to us. We ate at the restaurant and enjoyed the tasting menu. The fish was delicate and distinctive. Breakfast offered lots of sweet and savory choices, and I especially liked the fruit pancakes. I’d recommend it for a romantic getaway.

We’ve already booked for next year. Why spend a lot on Florida when, for not much more, we can vacation in this paradise? Monte Argentario is so quiet and charming, and the food is delicious. Let’s keep it under wraps so it doesn’t get overrun with Americans. At Villa Domizia, the staff were attentive without being too much, and our suite gave us plenty of privacy. I’ve never had food this good at another hotel, and even my picky wife loved it. #TeamArgentario

The location is unbeatable, and the rooms and beds are pleasant, clean, and well equipped. The views, food, beds, and hotel itself were all fantastic. I’d give it five stars if the service staff hadn’t made the experience unpleasant. The only person who greeted us kindly was the older receptionist on the night we arrived, who was very polite and respectful. Everyone else, from the pool cleaner to the restaurant waiters, was rude and seemed to look down on me. If that treatment doesn’t bother you, I would recommend this beautiful hotel.

Breakfast had loads of choices, including a basket of gluten-free items that I appreciated. We enjoyed the bar in the evenings, had dinner at the restaurant, and ate lunch one day at their "bistro" by the pool. San Stefano, Orbetello, and Porto Ercole were a short drive away, with good choices for dinner and things to do. We rented a motor boat one day and got gelato too. You’ll want a car, since there’s no safe way to walk anywhere beyond the hotel. We visited in June 2024 and had a lovely stay, though I wish we’d stayed longer. Our two rooms were spacious, with beautiful views, comfortable beds, and well-equipped bathrooms. Based on other guests’ photos, the property looks like it was remodeled recently. The furnishings and decor felt updated and modern, and the rooms were very comfortable. Service was attentive. No complaints at all, and we’d go back in a minute!
