Hotel Bussana

Good value for the money, with friendly staff. The beach is about a 10-minute drive away, and there's a big parking area, plus a bar and pizzeria close by.

Everything was nice.

We were at the hotel for four days. The price was genuinely reasonable, the rooms were clean, staff were courteous, and breakfast was average for an Italian hotel but still good. The pool area itself is attractive and well maintained. The problem is that it seems to be open to the local public, apparently for free, and was noisy and so crowded that we couldn't use it during our entire stay. We only managed a quick dip around 8:30 in the morning. If you're choosing this hotel for its pool, skip it. The room brings the rating down too. We booked through the leading online booking company, and got a room reached by an outside staircase, overlooking a noisy parking lot beside the main road. The double glazing might have helped us sleep, but the AC was only suited to a walk-in refrigerator and had no temperature setting, so we had to sleep with the window open. The bathroom is clean, but dated in an 1980s style, its window faces the shared corridor to the rooms, and there are no hooks or handles for towels and personal things. There's no mini-fridge in the room, only a shared glass-fronted one in the access corridor. Our bottles of mineral water promptly disappeared from it, and this is Italy! There are lots of Wi-Fi networks, but they practically never work. Vodafone reception is poor in the area too.

We're here for lunch during an event, so I can't comment on rooms or accommodation. The place looks modern and spacious, with plenty of staff and a large parking lot. We'll see how quickly the table service is.
