I’d already been in touch with Barbara before arriving, and she advised me about parking. I could also come by in the morning and leave my bags if the room wasn’t ready yet, which made everything easy. My short stay at B&B Al 28 was really pleasant. I was welcomed warmly and felt at home. The room was lovely and had all the things I needed: AC, Wifi, TV, a couch, a large comfortable bed, a kettle, and thoughtful little details. The bathroom had enough towels and a hairdryer. Everything was very clean. I could use the kitchen freely, including its coffee machine, kettle, microwave, and toaster, and help myself to water and sweet snacks like muffins and croissants. The whole stay was simple and enjoyable.

We loved the homemade breakfast marmalade. The family running this apartment was very friendly, and the place was clean with large rooms, close to the old town. We’ll be back!

The kitchen stayed open around the clock and was always stocked with snacks and hot drinks. The design and facilities were fantastic, and the owners even made our dog welcome 🥰🐶. Thanks to our lovely hosts for a great four-night stay. I’d recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Portoferraio.

We always managed to find free parking in the narrow lane behind the house. If that’s full, there’s a larger free lot not far away. Spiaggia delle Ghiaie is walkable by a traffic-free lane shaded by trees, and there are plenty of places to eat just around the corner. The owners were kind and helpful, and put on a terrific breakfast every day. The shared microkitchen could be used throughout the day, and there was room on the shared terrace to dry clothes and towels. Our room worked well for parents with children. The AC and WIFI were reliable, and everything in the apartment seemed either quite new or very well maintained. We could hear some street noise from our room, though we got used to it after the first night.

Barbara and her daughter are such lovely hosts. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the location is hard to beat. We had a really good stay and will definitely come back when we visit Elba Island.
