What put me off Le Sirenuse happened about two years ago, when my fiancé and I were in Positano celebrating our engagement and looking at wedding venues along the Amalfi Coast. We hadn’t heard of the hotel yet, but came across it and thought we’d ask whether it might be a candidate. At the entrance, two male staff members stopped us and asked where we were going. I greeted them politely and asked if we could come in and speak with someone about our enquiry. One cut me off, blocked our way, said, “No no. We dont hold weddings here,” then turned to his colleague. At the time we didn’t think much of it. Then today we found a blog listing this very hotel among the wedding venues in its “Weddings in Italy” feature. If walk-in visitors aren’t allowed, I’d understand that. They could at least have suggested making an appointment, or mentioned the restaurant inside where we might book a table and look around. Instead, they handled it in the complete opposite way from hospitality. I could have had a five-star stay, but I don’t think I’ll ever consider staying here.

The anniversary dinner at Aldo’s and La Sponda was fantastic, and the hotel made the occasion feel personal: musicians played at our table and we got a lovely dessert wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Le Sirenuse is in an unbeatable spot, with what felt like the most stunning views in all of Positano. From arrival, the staff were friendly and attentive and made us feel at home. Breakfast on the terrace and swimming with that iconic view were both 10/10. It’s certainly an investment, but we thought the experience was worth every penny. We can’t recommend it highly enough.

The boat trip to the new hotel property Le Sirenuse Mare Beach Club in Nurano was a highlight of our vacation. We also had the best couples massage we’ve ever had, and the food was perfect. Our room and its view were stunning, and Le Sirenuse is as beautiful as Positano itself. Everyone, from the front desk and concierge to the restaurants, housekeeping, and Spa, seemed to love their work and were happy to help, always smiling and following up on requests. Thank you to everyone at Le Sirenuse.

The staff were sincere and seemed to really love their jobs and La Sirenuse. They wanted to make our stay special, and got the balance just right: attentive when needed, never overbearing, and never lacking in service.

We had an ocean-view room with a private balcony overlooking the pool, and waking up there with espresso was wonderful. My husband and I came for our second anniversary, and staying at what felt like the nicest hotel in town was well worth it. Le Sirenuse is the one behind that famous view of the colorful hillside homes you see all over websites about the Amalfi coast. The hotel is a real gem in Positano, luxurious and incredible. Its detailed furniture and interiors felt ornate and classy, with a touch of baroque, and reminded me of the Titanic. The restaurants served delicious, authentic local food. The staff were friendly, attentive, and incredible. Antonio, the manager, was so helpful and friendly, and gave us a great selection of events and restaurants to try. He really is the best concierge. And if John Steinbeck wrote about how fabulous Le Sirenuse is, you know it’s a real treasure!
