GH Hotel Monzoni

The location was OK, but parking was extremely limited. The room was tiny, especially the shower, and breakfast was really poor with few options. In the evening, the lady owner, who spoke little English, made me repack my car even though I said I had some wine. I'm not sure she understood me. Despite the low price, I'd avoid this place.

I visited for a ski trip at the end of the year and had booked two hotels, so I needed a ride between them. I expected it to be tricky, but it turned out much harder than I thought. Since it was around New Year's, and taxis aren't the main way to get around the Dolomites, I couldn't get through to any taxi companies. The owner and staff were so friendly and helpful: they kept calling different companies in Italian, and after five or six tries they finally found me a ride. I really appreciate all their effort and kindness.

We stayed here twice and were able to leave some of our luggage at the hotel while we went hiking. It's right in the centre, and the staff are kind and helpful. Rooms are a little small, but they've been modernized and all have nice bathrooms. The swimming pool was nice, and breakfast was amazing. It deserves more than its 3.1 stars on Google maps!

The rooms were adequate and covered the basics during our last week of January stay. The staff were friendly and tried their best, and breakfast was acceptable. Dinner, though, was terrible. There were options, but the food came cold, badly prepared, or tasteless. Even the simple tortellini in "brodo" was inedible. The menu didn't match what arrived: the canederli in "brodo" came in butter, with just one dry, tasteless "canederlo"; the porcini mushrooms were a mix of other mushrooms; the meat was tough and tasteless; and the pasta and gnocchi were always overcooked and unsalted. My husband is intolerant to cow's milk, and even though we made that very clear a week beforehand, they still served him desserts and breakfast items containing milk powder. A real shame, since food in Italy is generally good.
