Hotel Chalet Alaska

Be careful with this place. I paid a 300 euro deposit, but they gave our room to someone else and never returned the money. Their policy of taking full payment before arrival already seemed suspicious. Booking failed to take the second payment on time and canceled the reservation. They didn't ask us to pay, call, message, or wait the one day until we arrived. Instead, they gave the room away. When we got to the hotel, they refused to give us a room or return our 300 euro deposit. They charge super expensive prices for such an old hotel, and in addition they seem to be trying to steal deposits even when guests don't get a room.

It's right in the town centre, with a great family atmosphere. Sustainability matters here, but it doesn't come at the expense of quality, unlike some other places. Breakfast is a delicious continental spread with homemade cakes. Lumi remembered that we always wanted extra tomato, so by the second day we didn't even have to ask. Highly recommended.

Warm, comfortable rooms come with stunning views of the Dolomites. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the location is excellent for the Val di Fassa ski areas. The cuisine is excellent too, especially the very characteristic Ladin dinner. Highly recommended.

My parents stayed here in September 2025 and found the hotel welcoming and clean. They were impressed by how much food there was and by its quality, at both breakfast and dinner. It's an excellent base for excursions or a walk downtown, and the staff were always kind and helpful, especially Cristina and Daniela.
