Standard Hotel Udine

We were told about the damaged air conditioner only when we arrived to check in. We had booked that same day and exchanged several emails with the hotel beforehand, but nobody mentioned it. The hot weather made all three nights of our reservation, from 09-August to 12-August, very unpleasant. I understand that the air conditioner breaking during our stay wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but we should have been informed before booking. We were given 4 eur back, which didn’t come close to matching the discomfort. We had also noted when booking that one of us was vegan. At breakfast, she could eat only apple, peach, and pineapple. After the first morning, we asked whether tomato, cucumber, or any vegetables could be provided, but the request was refused. 4 euro compensation for 4 days for 3 people isn’t much.

There wasn’t much atmosphere to the hotel, and it felt like a standard place for a short stay. Some staff were rude. The rooms were very poorly lit at night, and parts of ours were dirty and hadn’t been cleaned. The corridors smelled bad and the air felt stale. It’s in an unpopulated area, so you need a vehicle.

For the price, the room was okay and breakfast was included, but I wouldn’t stay again. The walls are paper-thin, so you can hear people talking or playing music. The bigger issue was checkout day: checkout was at 11 am, but the room cleaner came in at 10 while I was completely naked.

The ceiling was dripping everywhere when it rained, and the place had mold on the ceilings and dirty carpets. The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
