The hotel’s location is excellent, and I think the property itself may be quite nice. My problem was the booking service. I reserved through Airbnb 48 hours before my trip, and the booking was prepaid with the money blocked. Airbnb gives the hotel 24 hours to answer, which seems reasonable, but I was worried about ending up without a place to stay with my small child, or paying for two bookings if I tried to make a backup reservation. I found the hotel’s number and asked them to confirm or decline quickly instead of waiting the full 24 hours. They replied, “If we do not respond, we do not have a room. Contact Airbnb.” That was disappointing customer service and a poor way to handle reservations. I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve.

During the pandemic, we wanted a clean place to stay for a few days and get plenty of rest. We got exactly that. The hosts were lovely and hardworking, too, and we’re very grateful. The stay had the relaxed, warm-hearted feel of Italy that we know and love. We’d love to come back. Greetings from Vienna.
