Accademia Residence

Massimo was so attentive, and the place has a lovely, old-fashioned charm. It feels like a home away from home, so I’d happily stay again and again. If you want the service of a big chain, this probably won’t suit you.

The Monash Prato Centre is only about a two-minute walk away. The location worked well, and the room was comfortable.

A pleasant room right in the city centre.

The staff at the Residence were courteous and helpful, and even expressed regret about some of what happened. The room itself was nice, with a mezzanine, and I appreciated the coffee machine on the first floor. They also helped us manage access to the ZTL. The freezer was iced up and unusable, though, and the stovetop was quite old. Noise made two of our three nights almost impossible to sleep through. One night, a couple argued loudly until 4 a.m.; another, a baby cried desperately in the middle of the night. Bar customers nearby were loud too, and the soundproofing needs work. If the soundproofing is already good, then someone should explain to the local police that a little restraint is needed. The convenient location didn’t make up for it, and even though some of this was bad luck, those three family nights were the noisiest we can remember.
