Hotel Datini

The breakfast was a joke, just peaches and rock-hard bread, and the food overall was very poor quality. It felt like the hotel might be going bankrupt or trying to save every penny by serving the lowest-quality food possible. The bathroom wasn’t acceptably clean either. Most of all, the staff were extremely unprofessional and showed my family no respect. It was a very unpleasant stay, and I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.

The room was okay and the hotel generally fine, but the bedding needs attention. There was only a very thin sheet on the bed. When we asked for an extra blanket, we got uncovered wool blankets from a closet. With no protective cover, there’s no way to know how often they’re washed or how previous guests used them, so they felt unpleasant and unhygienic to sleep with. A proper duvet, or even just another sheet, would have helped a lot.

The location is remote, and the breakfast was ordinary at best, maybe poor. The rooms were tidy, clean, and functional, though the layout was a little strange but still workable. Nothing special.

The breakfast selection was the best I had in three weeks in Tuscany, and the mattress, pillows, room size, bath, and shower were all the best too. Don’t listen to the negative reviews. I can’t believe they stayed at the same place.
