Podere La Rondine

I've stayed here again and again because I love the place. Grazie mille.

Breakfast out in the garden was a lovely extra, and our family room had two separate areas, so my wife and I could relax while the kids settled in. The bathroom was attractive too, and the air conditioning helped when it was 39 degrees Celsius with 100 percent humidity. We switched it on for a while at night, since it felt like Bangkok outside. Podere La Rondine is a beautiful villa in Prato, with a big garden and elegant, finely furnished interiors. My children even asked, "Dad, how much does this hotel cost us?" The place is run by a kind, welcoming person and offers excellent value for money. We stayed for one night on our 2021 Giro d'Italia. We booked at the last minute by calling directly after spotting a family room on a well-known Dutch portal whose name starts with B and ends with looking. That meant the percentage that would have gone to Holland stayed with the B&B, there you go. I could stop here, since that sums it up, but if you've read this far, don't quit now. I write well, with just the right amount of irony and lightheartedness. The value really is superb. If you believe me, fine. If not, go tell me later. Actually, don't, I already get loads of useless emails, so skip it.

The villa is very old, but it's been kept in great shape. The B&B is near Prato, in a quiet, clean setting surrounded by nature, and the owners are very friendly. Breakfast was very good too. I recommend it, especially if you want to avoid business hotels in Florence, where cleanliness and service can unfortunately come with unpleasant surprises.

A small, peaceful spot among olive trees in a residential area just outside Prato. The rooms are roomy and very clean, and the staff are exceptionally kind and helpful. Prices are very reasonable. I'd recommend it for a Florence visit too, about a 40-minute drive away.
