We were upgraded to a magnificent suite. The wellness centre is one of the best I’ve found in a hotel, and I visit them often. The well-kept hotel is about 15 minutes from either La Thuile or Courmayeur, making it an excellent base for skiing in the upper val d'Aosta. There’s a wood-fired pizza oven in the restaurant, which also serves nice breakfast and lunch.

Lunch was really disappointing. The restaurant felt like a tourist trap. The ravioli and simple tagliatelle came to 40 €, along with two cocacola, and the ravioli portion was tiny and almost cold. The menu was very expensive, with raclette at 30€ per person, and there was no pizza available at lunch. Such an old-school way of doing business.

I’ve been coming back to Locanda Bellevue every year since 1986, and there’s a reason, probably more than one. The service is friendly, prices are fair, and the menu has enough variety for different needs while still including local regional specialties. Long live “Locanda Bellevue”!

Some rooms have lovely mountain views, and the staff I met were helpful and gracious. It has a rustic feel without missing any amenities, and the rooms have good amenities too. The restaurant is popular with locals. A great choice in town, and I’d come back in a heartbeat.

The lunch was a letdown. The rice had no taste, there seemed to be mold in the Parmesan, and the coffee was so hot it burned.
