The people I met here are what I’ll remember most. They weren’t just managing things or helping me get around Cilento, they were women and men with real depth, people I won’t forget. The building is ancient, with little corners to explore, and it’s been renovated so you still have the usual comforts. Breakfast was made with produce from right nearby, even closer than zero-kilometer: homemade jams and preserves from fruit in the owner’s garden, plus delicious cakes. A wonderful experience in a magical place. “Respectable,” as people used to say, when there were more of them.
