Villa Di Capovento

Stella's cooking was unbelievable. We ate breakfast and dinner there each night and loved everything, and their olive oil was delicious too. The grounds were beautiful and romantic, and our room was very comfortable. We spent our honeymoon here in July 2025 and had an incredible time. For most of the stay, we happened to be the only guests in the villa, which made it feel so special. Stella was wonderfully warm and friendly. I wish I could teleport back. Highly recommend!

The food was a joy, simple dishes that still felt like a feast for the senses. I joked that I might apply for permanent residency in the kitchen. The hosts were warm, kind, and always ready to help, with advice on what to see and where to go. Staying with them felt like being with family, in the best way. Villa di Capovento felt like a home where we could relax and feel special. It was a wonderful stay, and the kind of place that makes you want to return.

We found the food unbelievable and very good value, so I'd recommend eating in. There aren't many places within walking distance, though that wasn't a problem for us. The wine list was just right for Tuscany, and wine lovers might enjoy Casa Brancaia Winery nearby, which offers a range of tastings. We spent our honeymoon here, and it was everything we wanted and more. The owners were personable without being intrusive, and the villa felt peaceful and relaxing. The rooms were stylish, in keeping with the villa's tradition, but had the modern touches that made them comfortable. In summer, insects, especially horseflies, can be numerous in some parts of Tuscany, so bring plenty of repellent. The owners had clearly made an effort around the villa to deter them and keep guests comfortable. It didn't take away from how much we enjoyed our stay.

We were left without a place to stay and had to find other accommodation at the last minute, while already under stress. During our romantic trip to Italy, we arrived at the property and the host first seemed friendly, asking us to wait while he got ready to check us in. When he came back, though, he suddenly said we couldn't check in and demanded that we leave, without giving a legitimate reason. When we asked why, he said we were “too loud.” That wasn't true. We were calm and respectful and speaking normally. The only explanation that seemed plausible to us was that he realized we were Jewish, after seeing our Israeli passports or hearing Hebrew, and refused us accommodation for that reason. We felt humiliated, unwelcome, and deeply hurt. This was the first time we had experienced what we believe was antisemitic discrimination. The host's conduct clearly violates Booking.com's non-discrimination policy and applicable anti-discrimination laws.
