The hospitality from the Muziarelli family made our eight days at La Montalla feel special. Paola and Donna put out delicious breakfasts every day, and were happy to serve the fresh produce we’d picked up at a local farmers’ market. They helped us find our way around town, made lunch and dinner reservations, and patiently shared the history and culture of this beautiful area. One evening, they even arranged for a chef to come cook a wonderful meal. Alfonso had been a great help from the start, quickly answering our questions as we worked out whether the place would suit our group of 14, many of us meeting in Italy for the first time. He was available on WhatsApp around the clock. We made so many memories here and were sad to leave. It’s not five-star accommodation, but for an authentic experience of Tuscany, this is a wonderful choice. Thank you again!

We came back for a second stay and would love a third. Paola and Alfonso are wonderfully courteous, and the apartment, spacious spotless rooms, comfortable beds, and wooden beams all fit beautifully into the Val d'Orcia landscape. Breakfast was generous and amazing, and the view was lovely. We missed the pool this time since it wasn't summer yet, though it looked beautifully placed in the sun. We stayed at Agriturismo la Montalla in early August. It’s a few hundred meters beyond Contignano, in a very peaceful spot, and the main Val d'Orcia destinations, including Montepulciano, Montalcino, and Pienza, are about a 20-30 minute drive away. The farmhouse has the classic Tuscan rural look. Our apartment was bright and spacious, with the essentials we needed. There’s also a pool and a shared BBQ outside.
