A Staccia

The peaceful setting was just what we wanted, and the outdoor space looked especially lovely once the lights came on in the evening. We spent two nights at "A Staccia" in Marina di Ragusa, where Maurizio and Gianna welcomed us warmly and even arranged a crib for our baby. The stone walls give the house a cosy, charming feel, and inside it was spotless, with a comfortable bed, great pillows, a well-equipped kitchen and thoughtful touches throughout. There was a basket of snacks, Nutella, cookies and more, plus juice, tea, chilled water and coffee pods. A really pleasant stay, and the owners clearly care about their beautiful corner of Sicily.

We were exploring southeastern Sicily on a road trip and stayed here for a couple of nights. A Staccia has a lovely rustic feel, especially with its exposed stone, while still having modern comforts after its recent renovation. The owners were warm and friendly, and the place was spotless and had everything we needed. I especially liked having a hairdryer, coffee maker and a fridge with basics like water, milk and juice. It made us feel at home. We’d be glad to come back.

Maurizio and Gianna were kind and helpful, and the courtyard was a lovely spot for breakfast or just relaxing. At dusk the lights come on and make it feel even cosier. The house is on two levels, with a welcoming loft bedroom and lots of care in the details. It’s very well kept, though the short bit of road joining it to the main road is bumpy. It really is only a short stretch. Highly recommend.

My girlfriend and I fell for this place as soon as we arrived. Giovanna welcomed us into this beautiful baglio, where the recent renovation keeps the original country feel while adding modern comforts. It was peaceful and relaxing, exactly what we look for in a stay, and had a feel similar to more prestigious hotels. The owners' courtesy and friendliness stood out, and the value is excellent too.
