The good parts were the location, the clear directions for finding free parking, and the breakfast, especially the Americano with hot milk. The food and service at breakfast were excellent. The water pressure and temperature were good too. A lot of the rest was frustrating. We were offered Prosecco when we arrived and told someone would be over shortly to explain how Ragusa worked. We waited, finished our drinks, and eventually went to our room without hearing anything. The shower in the first room leaked badly enough that we used most of our towels to mop up. They tried to repair it but couldn’t, so we moved rooms. The second shower leaked less, and we put up with it. In both bathrooms, the handle on the small, rotting square window came off in our hands, as if it hadn’t been opened in years. We left our laundry in a visible bag on the floor to be collected, but it was overlooked. Laundry service was available, though there was no list of items or prices, so we wrote things down ourselves. When we brought the bag to reception, nobody seemed apologetic. Given the other problems, we thought they might offer the service on the house, but they didn’t. At checkout they gave us a total for extras without showing the costs. We had to ask for the breakdown before paying. There were other issues too, and the comments below about damp cave rooms are relevant. We had already told the hotel directly what had gone wrong, so this review shouldn’t come as a surprise. My guess is that it changed hands fairly recently and people don’t care anymore. I could be wrong, but that was how it felt.

Ragusa Ibla is beautiful and has such a peaceful feel. The hotel itself is cozy and charming, with lovely taste, and the service was outstanding. I was really happy I stayed there. Highly recommend it.

On August 14th, my group took our rental car down the hotel's restricted access alley by mistake while trying to find the restaurant. We weren’t guests, and Giuseppe at reception was busy, but he stepped in and handled it calmly. He skillfully drove the car out of the tight spot, gave us clear directions, and even phoned the restaurant to keep our table. What could have been a stressful mess became a great memory because of his kindness and professionalism. Giuseppe went well beyond what he needed to do for a group of lost tourists. If you visit, you can trust that the hotel has people like him on its team. He’s a real asset.

The staff were the best part of our stay. Everyone we dealt with, from the front desk and breakfast room to the parking team, was welcoming and accommodating. The location was perfect, and valet parking meant we never had to worry about finding a space. We stayed in a cave room and enjoyed it. The bathroom got very wet, but the dehumidifier kept the bedroom comfortable and dry.
