Casa Carmela 53

I was left without a place to stay for the week of August 15th after the host cancelled on the day I was due to arrive. I’d booked and paid in advance for August 13th and 14th, checking out on the 15th. The reason given was that it’s a single unit and he’d already sold the night of August 15th to 16th to other guests. Since he couldn’t find anyone to clean after I left on the 15th, he chose to drop my reservation. There was no force majeure here, just a deliberate choice to favor another booking that was more convenient, or perhaps more profitable, even though mine had been confirmed and paid for long ago. In high season I had to scramble for somewhere else, with prices through the roof and almost nothing available. A last-minute change around August 15th causes enormous disruption, and it’s unacceptable for someone in tourism to handle things this way. No organization, no respect for customers, no professionalism. Reliability: zero. Professionalism: zero. Respect for paying guests: nonexistent. If you want to avoid a nasty surprise and a ruined holiday, stay away from this place and its management.
