Hotel Acacia Marina

We found the hotel very quiet during our visit, and it’s about a 10-minute walk from the centre. The staff were all friendly and pleasant, with Dario at reception especially brilliant. Breakfast was adequate, though I personally found there were too many cakes and pastries. That might suit other people just fine. A very good 4-star hotel.

A lovely family break in Sicily, with green, peaceful grounds and everything kept very clean. The restaurant staff were kind and professional, and the fresh, delicious food was one of the best parts of our stay. The children especially loved the pools and jacuzzi. The beach is only a 3-5 minute walk away. We all had a really relaxing time.

The area was quiet when we visited outside the tourist season, and there isn’t much to do nearby. The beach is nice, and the hotel is right on it. There are pleasant pool areas, decent rooms, and plenty of lovely choices at the breakfast buffet. Staff were friendly too. There’s no pool bar, only a bar inside the hotel, where you have to cover up. I’d recommend it.

The location is residential and very quiet, so don’t expect music or entertainment. The gardens are lovely, the hotel is clean, and there are nice pools with plenty of sun loungers. Our clean third-floor room had a large balcony and a pleasant side sea view. We stayed from 17th September on bed and breakfast; the breakfast menu didn’t change, but there were plenty of options. Staff were generally polite and pleasant. Drinks felt a little expensive, and although we didn’t eat at the hotel restaurant, the set price was 30 euros per person. The beach was gorgeous, probably the best we’ve been to, and the weather stayed around 30 degrees all week. The hotel’s private beach costs 20 euros a day, including sun loungers, which may put some people off. Eating out meant a fair walk to the nearest restaurants, which felt like a lot to do every day and night. The square has around 15 restaurants and a great vibe, but we didn’t find lasagne, bolognese, or even tiramisu there, despite plenty of pizzerias. The food wasn’t the traditional mainland Italian fare we expected. It was a very relaxing holiday, but the location was a bit too far out for us, through no fault of the hotel. We might return, though after visiting Sorrento on the Amalfi coast last year, this felt like a different level.
