La Casa di Matilde

Luca and his family made us feel so welcome. They arranged a parking spot and helped with our luggage, and our rooms and the breakfast area had amazing views. Ibla is only a few minutes away on foot, without too many stairs. The one downside was that the beds were very hard.

The views from the private balcony and the shared balcony were stunning, and breakfast there was fantastic. We chose fresh rolls, cheese, ham, meats, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, and fruit, all good quality, though croissants and local sweet cakes were also available. The coffee was great, and it may be the nicest breakfast view I've ever had. Luca gave us a map and lots of information about the area and restaurants. Ibla's center is easy to reach for a stroll, and we also walked up many steps to Ragusa superiore, a lovely route. A taxi is an option for anyone with bad knees, though we preferred Ibla. We only had one night and wished we could have stayed longer. Luca first gave us an easy-to-find meeting point for our hire car that avoided the narrow lanes, then showed us a good place to park. From there, it was a short walk up and down a few steps on a charming Ibla street to La Casa Di Matilde. The beautiful house had a perfect, spotless room with a mini fridge, air conditioning, a gorgeous bathroom, great beds, and that little balcony with the stunning view. There's also a lovely communal kitchen area. Absolutely fabulous, thank you Luca and family for a wonderful stay.

Giuseppe was very kind when we arrived, and the room was clean, with its own bathroom. The Wi-Fi worked well and breakfast was complete. We paid 71.50€ for a double room in late July. Ragusa Ibla's old center is just five minutes away. One of the best options in town.

We stayed one night in a clean, quiet room. It's a walk up, so pack light. Backpacks are a good idea.
