Mediterraneo Palace Hotel

The hotel is clean, and the staff are committed, flexible and ready to help with any problem. They also support meetings and social activities. For food or a place to socialize, I recommend Basilico near the local cathedral, where the food is very good and cheap, or The Clab on the same street as the hotel, with exquisite, modern food. Both places have English support.

I liked the comfortable beds and the bar beside the hotel, and the staff were nice. Breakfast was industrial and not tasty, though. The elevator is loud, the bathroom feels dated, and the shower was fixed rather than flexible. The do not disturb system didn't work, and the AC sometimes switched on during the night. It's a decent choice if you're not going to spend much time in the hotel.

We were there between Christmas and Nye, when the hotel was quiet, but they didn't open the bar or restaurant. That was annoying with torrential rain outside and little desire to go out. Apart from that, the location is pretty decent and the rooms were clean, though not especially comfortable. The hotel was fine, nothing special. If the price is decent, you can't go too far wrong.

The hotel is quite far from the island's main tourist attractions, and the ground-floor disco and bar made sleeping difficult with very loud music at night. Hotels are places people pay to sleep, not to party willy-nilly. This one is an exception.
