Poggio del Sole Hotel

This stay was nothing like I expected. The rooms were damaged, the staff were rude and treated guests like intruders, and the pool water was green. They were also spraying irritating air fresheners in the rooms. By the standards I experienced, this is a two-star hotel, not the advertised four-star.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and I appreciated that the shower had emergency cords set at an appropriate height, something I've seen missing or placed incorrectly at other Italian hotels. But the temperature was uncomfortable. After a long day in the sun, it was frustrating not to get the room down to 23-24C, even understanding the energy-saving measures. The sheet sets also weren't made of cooling material, which made the nights uncomfortable. Our shower hadn't been serviced for a while either: the rainfall head leaked from the side instead of the holes, more like a garden hose than rainfall. WiFi is listed as free, but even after we spoke to staff it didn't work. Coverage was poor across the hotel, with several hotspots using different passwords, and nearly all failed to connect to the internet. Trying was a waste of time for such a basic service in 2025. The hotel looks nice at first, but using the services reveals serious problems and obvious mismanagement. At the pool and outdoor bar, bring your own towel or pay a 2€ rental fee. The pool itself was clean and refreshing, though a little small for an establishment this size. The bathrooms next to the pool weren't clean and had no toilet paper, and there was no staff member to report it to. Just one woman was working at the indoor/outdoor bar. Around 3-4pm, guests were cooling off by the pool and queuing for drinks. One bartender wasn't enough for the demand, especially as she also seemed to be the only employee handling and delivering room service. She was pleasant and courteous, but didn't seem in a hurry, and it felt like this might not have been her main job. This could be a great place if management staffed it properly and paid attention to basic guest service and standards. It shouldn't be rated four stars.

A peaceful little oasis for exploring the region. The modern, comfortable rooms are a good place to relax, and a cocktail by the pool is just right for cooling down in the heat and humidity.

The staff were so helpful, and I had a lovely stay here for a motorcycle gathering. I'd recommend it, especially for a special event. It's a huge, lovely four-star hotel that earns its rating. The food quality was exceptional and breakfast outstanding. The rooms are beautiful, the underground garage is massive, and the setting is lovely. The thought and care in the design of some of the bars and the special wedding areas is stunning.
