The wine situation was frustrating. We asked for a glass each, but were brought two large carafes of awful wine and charged for both, even though we’d said what we wanted. When we asked for something better, the server said we’d have to order a whole bottle. She also couldn’t process card payment. The food didn’t help: the pork with mushrooms and lemon chicken were bland, and the salad was just coarse iceberg lettuce and tomato without dressing. Unless your standards are very low, I’d avoid this place. There’s much better food in Randazzo. Zero stars if I could.

The ingredients and cooking were excellent across all the dishes we tried. My wife and I had a really good lunch, with friendly, polite, professional service. If you want to eat well and feel like a local, come here. Thanks, fam. Scrivano!

The food at Hotel Scrivano was delicious and homemade, and everyone was warm and welcoming. They were just as thoughtful after checkout: my wife accidentally left her jacket in the room, and the owner called while we were on our way to the airport to say they’d mail it to her in the UK. It arrived a few days later, just as promised.

We first stayed at Hotel Scrivano in April 2024, then came back in April 2025. Both visits were wonderful. The rooms are clean and looked after daily, and the food is delicious, so it’s well worth staying in for dinner. We’re already looking forward to another visit. Thank you to the Fam. Scrivano for taking such good care of us. On our second stay, we had a medical issue, and the owners went above and beyond to help. Their kindness and generosity are outstanding. Staying here feels like visiting your favourite aunt and uncle. Until next time 🤞🏻

We stopped for a snack, but the kitchen had been closed for only 20 minutes and they wouldn’t reopen it, even though staff were there. While we were still eating, someone new ordered la bisteccha, so they could have cooked something. We’d asked for something quick and were offered a salad instead. The lettuce was already yellowish, and they charged us 18€ each for a few olives, two slices of Parma ham, and four small slices of salami. Never again. Shame on you!
