Hotel Fernanda

I wouldn’t stay here again. It was affordable, but I wish I’d paid more to stay somewhere else. At around 10pm someone tried to get into our room, though thankfully it was locked. With nobody at reception at night and no management on site, I didn’t feel safe and didn’t know what was going on. The room wasn’t soundproof at all. I could hear every word of the man next door’s phone call at 9pm, which went on for an hour, and he did the same at 6:30am. Outside, roadworks were very noisy and started early. I’d paid extra for a partial sea view, and the front-facing room did have that view, but also looked straight onto the works, so it ended up being worse.

We left as quickly as we could, and I’ll never return. The room felt stuffy, had a terrible smell of old, dusty furniture, and no fan. It was summer, and we could hardly breathe or sleep, so we kept the door open all night. Outside the window, scooters and people dumping glass made noise all night. A lantern kept flickering on and off every few seconds. There was no Wi-Fi either. We’d booked for five days. In the morning, we tried to check out, and our contract said we only had to pay for the next night. The owner insisted we owed for the whole stay, nearly EUR 600, and there was a loud argument before he realized he couldn’t scam us and corrected the bill. I had to call a friend back home at about 4am to find another hotel, since without internet I couldn’t do it there. This hotel is dangerous for your health.

Good price and clean. That’s it.
