Hotel Bellavista

The room and bathroom were both spacious, with lovely amenities you’d expect at a four-star hotel, and everything was spotlessly clean. We chose half board and really enjoyed the home-cooked meals, especially the desserts. We also saved some money by buying our skipass at the hotel, after they let us know about that option before we arrived. The owners and staff were so helpful: they replied to my inquiry within an hour, even though I sent it at 9 pm, and gave me all the information I needed for our stay. Of all the hotels I’ve stayed at in Italy, this one is a real gem. My family and I can’t wait to come back. Thanks for such a great stay!

The venison ragout was delicious, and the staff were friendly and did their best to explain everything in English. Unfortunately, three of our four meals were below average. We ordered two medium rib-eye steaks, but they came well done, chewy and very thin, more like schnitzel. There was also what looked like plastic paper in the ribs. We stopped for dinner at the end of August, so maybe the food suffered because it was outside the winter season. I wouldn’t recommend eating here. Two stars for the friendly staff and the ragout.

The rooms look out over the village and mountains, and the prices are good. The crew were amazing, the sauna and Turkish bath were clean, and the food was delicious. A note to Hungarian families, especially those with small children: travel with Sítanoda! We’ll definitely be back. :)

After we finally got our complaints through to the hotel management despite the language barrier, we received an apology and saw some improvements. We can now ask for the sauna to be heated earlier, and in the morning they offer real cappuccino or espresso from a professional machine. The buffet has been upgraded with Parma ham and fresh fruit salad. The Wi-Fi has been fixed, though it’s still slow, and the operator may be the limit technically. I appreciate the effort, but it’s a shame we had to complain first. Before that, we were disappointed. For a hotel advertised as a wellness hotel, the sauna only opened around 18:00, even on rainy days. Breakfast was poor, the coffee was horrible, the promised extra Sunday breakfast buffet was missing, and the hotel Wi-Fi didn’t work. I can’t recommend this place. Sorry, it needs to do better!
