Monte Brusara

The family who runs this place made our stay feel so personal. They were warm and kind, and we felt like we’d been welcomed into their home. Breakfast on the terrace, with cappuccino and fresh baked treats, was my favorite way to start the day. The hotel itself is lovely, almost like having your own Italian villa. The rooms and bathrooms have been fully remodeled and feel modern. It’s quietly perched above the Amalfi Coast, and Ravello is a must-see when you’re visiting the area. Such a magical start to our Italian vacation.

The family really deserves more than five stars. They went out of their way to help us, and I’m so glad we picked this peaceful little place. Our room was clean and beautiful, with a properly cold A/C, comfortable beds, dark shades, and good linens. We slept really well, then had a wonderful breakfast each morning. The higher setting brings cool air off the water and an unbelievable view of the Amalfi coast. It’s a bit outside Ravello, but quiet and peaceful. Friends at pricier places in town didn’t have a cool room like ours. I highly recommend it.

The view was lovely, but it was hard to see past how much we paid, £260 a night, for such a tiny room. It had only a basic TV, and there wasn’t anyone around to help unless you went upstairs. Breakfast was very basic too. Apart from the scrambled eggs, nothing seemed fresh. For that steep price, the view felt like the only real offering. Better breakfast and more attention from the host would have made a difference.

I found this home while hiking with friends on a hot day. One of the owners, Elena, invited us up to her Terrace for a cold glass of water and a look at the view. From the top of Ravello, you can see across Minori, Ravello, Scala, and Amalfi. I’d recommend it to anyone who likes a great view and being a healthy distance from the town center.
