Hotel Adler

We paid a very good price for a week, so I can't say the whole stay was negative. Still, for more than 800 eur for 7 nights, I think there are better options nearby. The rooms were clean and cleaned daily, and the cleaning lady would handle extra requests. The pool seemed handy, and staff were friendly and helpful to a point. There are regular activities for children, including evening discos, dancing on the beach during the day, a children's club, a large bouncy slide castle outside, and a playroom available all the time. The manager was friendly, though I question his competence, since many of the problems below could be addressed. Sleep was difficult. With a sea-view room, loud music played under the window at least until midnight every day, sometimes longer. The walls are thin enough to hear conversations next door. Italian children around 6-9 years old often ran and screamed in the halls on every floor after 11:30 PM. There were also children shouting and riding small bikes or kicking footballs in the restaurant while people carried plates and ate. Lunch and dinner were so noisy that we had to yell to hear each other. Breakfast was very limited, about 90% sweet food and less than 10% made up of the same ham, salami, cheese, mortadella, and scrambled eggs. It ran until 10AM, but by 9AM even the bread was nearly gone, and they stopped refilling the tables. Most of the staff, about 95%, didn't speak English, so they couldn't explain what was in the pasta or other food. There were no written labels either, which could be a serious problem for people with allergies who don't know Italian. The check-in receptionist also serves draft beer and wine to all-inclusive guests, so getting a drink could take longer. There are just two small elevators, with a maximum capacity of 3 adults, and no up or down buttons. They can mean a long wait, and sometimes you end up riding around because the elevator doesn't go where you need. Each room gets only one old key, even for 5-bed apartments with several adults. Parking was horrible: there is no hotel parking, so you have to find a space on the street between houses or walk 10-15 minutes from the large lot.

I stayed there years ago, and I'm still amazed that the bad reviews seem to vanish while the 5/5 ratings keep appearing. I usually travel in a camper and am not easily put off or demanding, but this became one of those horror-trip stories you remember and tell later. It was dirty, the attitude was arrogant, and there was nothing resembling a relaxing holiday. Don't go. You'd be better off sleeping on the beach.

The rooms were lovely, and the staff were really nice. I thought the place was beautiful.

The bathroom looked a little dated, but it was nice overall. The room was clean and had air conditioning, and breakfast at the hotel was good.
