Hotel Miami

The breakfast had plenty to choose from, but the place was filthy, with raw eggs, and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in decades. Even the room was a letdown: we were given a tiny single room for the price of a couple's room, with a broken TV and fridge, despite the booking pictures. You could hear other guests through the walls, and the maids were very loud in the morning. Air conditioning cost extra. Parking was advertised, but we weren't given proper access, and someone stole the mirror from our car. At reception they told us to park wherever we could find a spot. The short-haired woman at the desk was unfriendly, and the manager wouldn't speak any language other than his own. The hotel felt hostile toward tourists, though they were happy enough to take money from foreigners. I've never stayed in a dirtier, worse hotel.

The room was in poor condition, and there was even a smoked cigar on the table. I booked for the wrong date online and only caught the mistake at check-in. Staff said they would cancel it so we could book for the correct day, but sorting that out was difficult because they didn't speak English. I trusted the arrangement, but when I checked again the next day, they said the cancellation was no longer possible. I ended up paying twice for a poor room. We chose the hotel for its location and low price, but it wasn't worth it. Breakfast was okay; the service and facilities were terrible.

The pool was lovely, and the location is great. The room felt quite small and could have been cleaned better, but for the price and quality I'd still give it a four.

The rooms were really bad, though breakfast was good.
