Hotel Puntamajata

The layout is hilarious.

If I could, I'd give it zero stars. We waited about an hour after arriving for a room, and when we finally got one, it was a triple instead of the quadruple we'd booked. Staff said they'd mixed up the reservations, which makes sense since they still use paper sheets. After another half hour, we got into a room where one of the two air conditioners wasn't working. Even though we'd reported it, no one bothered to check. The bathroom toilet paper was nearly gone and hadn't been replaced, the refrigerator didn't work properly, and there was no Wi-Fi anywhere on the property. The pool water was changed using a hose, with no security. Breakfast was frozen and inedible, and the drinks were so disgusting that, as often happened, you'd wish they wouldn't arrive at all. It felt like the whole hotel staff were on their first day. Unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. If there were a "nightmare hotel" show, Puntamajata would top the list. Inadequate.

The staff gave us a warm, genuine welcome and made us feel at home right away. Our room was clean, comfortable, well looked after, and had a lovely terrace facing the sea. The pool and solarium were great for winding down after a beach day, and the generous, tasty breakfast got each morning off to a good start. Hotel PuntaMajata is in beautiful Rissello Bay, just steps from the beach and the famous Scala dei Turchi. Agrigento and the Torre Salsa Nature Reserve are only minutes away. I highly recommend it for a relaxing, lovely vacation.

The location is extraordinary and the breakfast was good. The hotel has recently reopened after the tragic years of COVID. Reopening after so long closed can't be easy, so the kind, helpful staff deserve understanding and support for all their hard work.
