Hotel Continental

The cleaning team was lovely and attentive, and the staff generally seemed affable. When we raised things that could be improved, reception was defensive at first instead of receptive. The facilities are dated, the walls are wafer thin, and one small elevator serves the whole hotel, so expect waits. Ask for a sea view room: the view isn't the best you'll see, but it's much quieter than the street side, where the noise is significant. The place is clean if you get the right room.

Breakfast was good, though I found it odd that scrambled eggs cost extra. The rooms were clean but felt old, with very few outlets and no USB charging. Even my grandparents' home feels more modern. For the price, I didn't think the stay was good value.

We stopped for one night on our trip and were glad we chose this place. It's just outside the center, which keeps things quiet, and the walk in is easy with some lovely views. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly and polite and made us feel welcome. Free parking out of the hotel was a nice extra. Good value for money.

We arrived in Reggio late, and the team at hotel Continental arranged a taxi for us. The night manager also helped me book a train for the next day. The breakfast team were very nice too. Everyone was focused on looking after guests, and it was a pleasure to stay overnight before exploring Calabria.
