The hosts were the highlight, always friendly, helpful, and full of good suggestions for places to visit and eat. I felt right at home and would definitely recommend staying here. The room was comfortable, clean, and tastefully decorated. The location in Reggio Calabria also worked really well, just a short walk from the beach, cafés, restaurants, and the city center. I’d love to come back!

Cinzia at Il giardino was lovely. I had my morning coffee on the terrace while she painted, and we chatted in a mix of Italiano and English. She also gave me a number to book a taxi in advance for the airport, a great tip from Massimo. I’d recommend it for a short stay anytime. I booked without doing any research because the Ryanair flights were cheap, and it turned out to be a great choice. At the end of June there were very few tourists, and Reggio Calabria was easy to get around on foot. I spent one day there, took the ferry to Messina on day two for 7 euros return, then went by train to Scilla on day three, also 7 euros return. It’s a great base for trips out, since RC is too small for many days, and that’s part of its appeal. In Scilla I had a great swordfish sandwich at civico 5. Xx

The owner was so friendly and helpful with everything. The B&B has a lovely, stylish old English look, and the shower is good. The beds are great and can be separated if requested. There’s air conditioning for hot days, and breakfast mixes Italian and European options: bread, ham, cheese, yoghurt, and a sweet bun. Juice, coffee, tea, and very good Wi-Fi are free to use. Shame there’s no smart TV for rainy days. You can park along the road, with plenty of space, especially during the day. It’s a busy road, but you can’t hear it inside. Dogs are allowed for €15,- a day, and can come into the breakfast room, onto the terrace, and outside. I’ll definitely come back!

Cinzia, the owner, has great tips for visiting the area, and the attention to detail in the bedrooms, terrace, and amenities is lovely. This charming B&B sits a little away from the city center, so it’s very quiet, while still making it easy to explore the city on foot. Highly recommended!

The hostess was wonderfully kind and helpful, with lots of tips. The location was excellent, and the rooftop terrace was a lovely place to relax in the evening. There was also a small kitchenette. The bathroom wasn’t spotless, but the rest of the small apartment was lovely.
