Villa La Fenice

The garden and terrace are stunning, with a grand event space and the beach just steps away. Nights were peaceful, and it’s about a 15-minute drive from the main train station. Even in low season, the staff took care of every need, and breakfast was a feast: three tables of juice, yogurt, pastries, meats, cheeses, eggs, and a whole basket of fresh, cold fruit. I’d planned on one night, then decided to stay longer because of the room, the grounds, and the service. Aldo at reception was amazing. He doesn’t speak English, but we used Google Translate, and he spoke slowly so I could learn the words. That was thoughtful. When I got lost, I called him and my phone died. He gave me his brother’s number, then got in his car and came to find me. He carried my bags, suggested three nearby restaurants that were open late, called the one I chose to let them know I was coming, and drove me there because I’m terrible with directions. He also explained the simplest way for me to get back, which I remembered! At bar da mimmo, right on the water and a short walk from the beach, I had a delicious pizza while listening to the ocean. Service was quick and friendly, and the view was great. The whole meal came to €15, and it really was amazing. This place is worth every penny and more, a must-stay in Reggio Calabria. I can’t recommend it enough. Pure bliss, and definitely a gem for anyone who loves taking pictures.

The rooms are spacious, and the hotel has been decorated with style. We received very friendly service throughout our stay. It would be a great choice for a wedding. We’d gladly return.
