Residence Caporale

We were surrounded by countryside and quiet, and the apartment we picked was more than perfect for three people. It isn’t in central Udine, though there are lots of amenities close by and easy to get to.

The view toward Carnia and the Slovenian border is wonderful, and the border is about a 15-minute drive away. Breakfast comes with plain croissants and butter, jam, or chocolate spread, plus juice and yogurt. You can ask for coffee or cappuccino too. It’s a quiet, charming place. My room felt like a little apartment, with an entry area and small kitchenette, a roomy bathroom with shower and hairdryer, a double bedroom, and another room with two single beds. I did find some old dirt marks on the sheets and a little dust on the floor.

Though it’s close to the city center, the residence is surrounded by nature. The staff are courteous and professional, and the place feels welcoming. It’s carefully looked after and has what you need for a few days away, whether you’re staying short or medium term, while still having the comforts of home.

The owners were friendly and helpful during our two-day stay. The mattresses could do with an update, especially the one on the sofa bed. I’d still stay here again if I came back to Remanzacco.
