L'Attico

The room was small, with a small TV, and Rai channels were missing. Cleanliness was lacking, and WiFi... well. There's a disco across from the building that stays open until 2 a.m., so sleeping is difficult. The property is on the seventh floor, but the narrow, small, unsafe elevator only goes up to the sixth. You have to walk the last two flights of stairs.

The apartment needs upkeep: the bathroom's cold-water taps were broken, and there were no cots. Getting to the seventh floor means taking the elevator six floors and then walking the last one. Oddly, the neighbor can switch the light in the second bedroom on and off. With a sofa bed in that second room, I’d only suggest staying one night.

The location is central and convenient, but we found dust throughout the place and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly. There was a cardboard tube and a scrap of paper by the bedside table, and only one bedside table anyway, which I joked was because I was mean and didn't deserve one. The shower was so tiny it seemed suitable only for someone under 40 kg, with shoes on. The fixtures and shower were covered in limescale, and the bidet filter was clogged with it too. Breakfast was meager: one mini Nutella tub, which my wife and I had to barter over, some jam, and croissants from a discount store. After the first day, they called to say they needed to clean. We went out for a nice trip around beautiful Cosenza, but came back to find the room just as it was. The floor hadn't even been swept, the breakfast cutlery was still dirty on the table, and the food hadn't been replenished. They had taken away the coffee jar, maybe worried we'd make another cup. The room was very small, but with proper management it could have been better. This B&B is a long way from standard service. I'd tell the owner that a little more care and kindness would make a real difference.

The owners were exceptionally warm and helpful, and they can make arrangements for check-in and check-out times. Prices are reasonable, and parking is conveniently available right by the entrance. This centrally placed B&B is easy to reach, just two minutes from the Rende highway exit. The rooms are charming, carefully looked after, and have everything you need, even sweets on the bedside table. The bathroom was equally clean and well equipped. There's a spacious, bright kitchen with a lovely city view, and it has all the equipment you need. I'd gladly stay here again.
