The family running this place really went out of their way for us. They helped arrange taxis, boat trips, thermal baths, and even private chefs. Francesca was especially wonderful. My friends and I had a fantastic vacation and hope to come back. The villa is enormous, comfortable, and beautifully furnished. Outside, the grounds are full of flowers, greenery, orange trees, and lemon trees. The pool looks out over both the sea and the mountains. Thank you, Francesca!

Francesca was a terrific host, and we'll call her again when we come back. This property is even more beautiful in person than it looks in the pictures, and its history is unbelievable. It's also a handy base for day trips along Sicily's northern coast, with Trapani, Favignana, great beaches, and Erice nearby. Erice is only a 15-minute drive and is a must-see. The hosts were very accommodating, helping us with translations, suggestions, and transport arrangements. Villa Fontana was a great place to stay while exploring western Sicily, with good food and beaches close by.

The house has lovely views and plenty of space, but it wasn't set up well for nine people. The fridge is small, and the tables and chairs only seat six comfortably. The appliances are old, and there isn't a shaded place to eat. We felt the hosts were quick to charge us and blame us for things such as damage from slamming doors, incorrect recycling even when we'd sorted things, and supposedly washing the cheap towels the wrong way. It spoiled the stay. They also seem to take a commission on everything, including the cleaning lady and guide. The outdoor area isn't as nice as it appears, apart from the entrance shown in the photo. The pool could have been designed with more taste.

The owner was friendly and very helpful. It's a lovely villa, with gardens full of cacti and other exotic plants.
