Expo Residence Rho

The road noise was the main downside of our stay at Expo Residence Rho. Our room faced a busy street, and even with the windows shut we could hear nearly every vehicle. Motorcycles were especially loud, sometimes making it feel like we were sleeping outside. A courtyard-facing room would probably have made for a much better stay. There were also problems getting information before arrival. Since there’s no staff on site, we needed clear self check-in instructions. We were told they’d arrive the next morning, but we were already travelling and only about two hours away when nothing had come through. We contacted the property again, then received the entry code, key box code, and check-in steps. These instructions could easily be prepared and sent in advance. The deposit process was stressful too. After booking, we were told to pay a deposit, but the steps weren’t explained clearly. The online form asked for passport details, a selfie, stay information, and card details. After I entered the card information, there was no payment, confirmation, or explanation. I started worrying it might be a scam. I didn’t get a proper reply until the next morning, and the deposit wasn’t charged until the day after that. I waited almost 12 hours without knowing what was happening. The deposit did come back after four working days, so the refund itself was fine. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, especially for the price. The bed was soft and comfortable, the room was large, and the kitchen area had dishes, a two-zone induction hob, a microwave, and a kettle. The kettle was very cheap and didn’t work very well, but at least there was one. We didn’t use the air conditioner, so I can’t say how well it works. The bathroom had a toilet-bidet, a shower cabin, and a large sink. The towels looked new, were white and very clean, and both the hot water and shower pressure were excellent. The location was convenient in other ways. The station for trains to Milan was about 900 meters away, and a large supermarket was only about 200 meters from the property, with plenty of products and a good range of ready-made food. That was handy when we didn’t want to eat at restaurants every day. The private parking inside the courtyard was secure and convenient, with an automatic gate opened by the key supplied with the room key. The shutters on the windows could make the room completely dark. Before leaving, we washed the dishes, cleaned the kitchen area, and tried to leave the apartment in good condition because the rules mentioned a possible fee for dirty dishes or a dirty kitchen. My ratings: location 4/5; room size and comfort 5/5; sound insulation 2.5/5; staff communication and response speed 2.5/5. The spacious, well-equipped apartment, convenient supermarket, and private parking were all positives, and the deposit was returned without trouble. But the road noise, unclear deposit process, and slow, incomplete communication before arrival had a serious effect on the experience.
