Borgo Donna Canfora

The place is beautiful, and the staff were fantastic. We had a great stay, especially thanks to Allesandro & Laura, Christian and Ernesto. Our room was clean, spacious enough, and had a lovely sea view. The beach and beach bar were amazing too. My one suggestion is to let dinner run at a more Italian pace. It seemed they were hurrying things along for the mostly German tourists, but guests could be encouraged to enjoy a long meal instead, say from 20:30 to 23:00, with plenty of wine and time at the table.

A peaceful hotel with a lovely pool, a nice beach nearby, and a garden full of lush greenery that’s clearly well looked after. The rooms were tidy and cleaned daily, and the staff were friendly. It suits anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing break. There aren’t many shops or restaurants around, so having a car or scooter is probably best. Breakfast had tasty croissants and sweet things. It was generally okay, though the savory selection was small and didn’t vary much.

We stayed at Giancarlo's place for a short holiday, and the clear, convenient booking through the official homepage made a good first impression. On arrival, it felt like a clean, idyllic village. Breakfast was a real treat, and we easily spent over an hour there enjoying the sea view. There were different kinds of coffee from a machine, all tasty, plus ricotta, two other cheeses, four cured meats, scrambled eggs, bacon, eggs, omelette, and plenty more. There were also yoghurts, muesli, three kinds of croissants, cakes, cookies, and fruit. I’d recommend booking dinner as well. The beach is private and very clean, with a shuttle in both directions. We were leaving early, and Giancarlo's team kindly packed tasty breakfasts for everyone. Grazie mille! We’ll definitely consider Giancarlo's hospitality and the Borgo Donna Canfora again when we visit the west side of Calabria.

We stayed the first week of August 2023, my husband, our daughter, and me, and we were amazed by this resort. The food was extraordinary, with every meal prepared skillfully and with real care. It honestly felt Michelin Star grade. The grounds, restaurant, and rooms were all extremely clean. We loved the beach service and the pool area. The staff were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, and the service was outstanding. We’ll definitely return, and we commend the owner and staff for giving us a level of service and experience we haven’t found anywhere else.
