Hotel Residence Santa Monica

The pool was fantastic, and I’ll remember the view for a long time. The apartments were beautiful and clean, with fresh, local, healthy food and friendly, helpful staff. It’s the best hotel I can imagine. I’d bring a rental car to see the lovely surroundings and make shopping easier.

Caterina was attentive and extremely helpful with everything guests needed, and her husband Nicola was always polite and ready to sort out any issues. Giulio deserves a special mention too. He handled the daily jobs with energy, strength, determination, and a helpful attitude, and always had a smile. We stayed from August 9, 2025, to August 23, 2025, our second year at the Residence, and really enjoyed it. The property was welcoming, clean, and set up to meet guests’ needs. Our apartment was spotless and fully equipped, and the pool at sunset, looking toward Stromboli, had a special atmosphere. They also put on a wonderful evening for Ferragosto. I recommend the place for both the quality of the property and its warm, family-like feel. My compliments!

The rooms were very clean and the outdoor areas looked well cared for. We chose half-board: breakfast had a decent range, while dinner included a choice of two first courses and two second courses, plus a side-dish buffet. The resort is well placed for visiting the beaches along the Costa degli Dei, though Tropea, the only nearby town with nightlife, is about twenty minutes away. In general it’s decent. Some waiters were a bit unfriendly and often made rude jokes, which was a shame. Angelo was amazing and deserves a special mention.

I didn’t rent a car, but managed to get around on foot and by train with tips from the residence staff. They were also very accommodating with my requests, including making sure I had food suited to my gluten-free diet. Dinner was delicious, and the waiters were kind and friendly. The apartment was superb, the pool beautiful, and the property well maintained. The location was extraordinary, with breathtaking sunsets over Stromboli and the Aeolian Islands. I had a wonderful time and will definitely return.
