The setting is the best part: lovely grounds, big views, and a beach right below the cliff, with Tropea only about 10 minutes away. Parking is good and the staff are nice. Off season, €50 per room is a great price; in summer it can reach €130 per person per night, though breakfast and dinner are supposed to be included. It could become a fantastic beach club. The hotel itself feels very old and badly needs renovation. There’s just one outlet in the room, across from the bed, which is a real hassle with phones and tablets. Wi-Fi was painfully slow in some rooms and didn’t work at all in others. Cell service also failed in many rooms, leaving only the TV for entertainment. About half the rooms have an okay water view; the rest look straight at a rock wall less than 10 feet from the window.

The staff were especially kind and attentive, and breakfast was very good. It’s a lovely place, with a large pool, private beach access, and pleasantly roomy accommodations with wonderful views.
