Getting to the beach is easy and the location is nice. That's about all I liked. This definitely isn't a 3* hotel like the listings say, and it's absolutely not worth the price. They made us pay at the desk before we had even seen the room, then we had to wait two hours for it. Usually you pay when you leave. The place wasn't very clean. I was worried something might eat me in the shower. There was no a/c in the room, the restaurant had a poor selection and the menu was only in Italian. The staff spoke very little of anything other than their native language.

The pool is perfect, and the beach is beautiful and really close to the apartments. Umbrellas and chairs are free.

It was a shame, since Calabrian hospitality deserves a better impression than the one we left with. We felt treated like second-class guests for not staying at the property. The bar staff had been kind and helpful, and told us non-guests could buy food with about a 10-minute wait. My partner and I, on a relaxing day in beautiful Capo Vaticano, wanted to try arancini with ragù and 'nduja, so we ordered two. We also got a beer and a can of Coke, and made clear that we'd eat everything on the beach, not in the hotel. The awkward part came when we went to reception to pay. The person at the desk, whom I presume was the owner, seemed unsure of the prices and checked a price list. The total was €15.00 for the takeout, and there was no itemized bill, written receipt, or explanation. We haven't paid that much even in Lipari. To us, it felt excessive and unjustified: there were no tables, dishes, or dedicated staff involved, and prices weren't shared until checkout. The owner came across as rude and hasty, very different from the bar staff. We're used to paying a fair price for quality and service.
