Villaggio Il Gabbiano

The pool was super clean, and the rooms were cleaned and swept every day with fresh towels. We loved how much there was to choose from at meals, with plenty for kids too. The little deli had sandwiches and different pizzas for lunch when we wanted a change. Breakfast was a highlight, especially the coffee and fresh food. The staff and entertainment team worked hard to make everyone feel welcome and looked after, with activities for all ages. Between the food, service, scenery, rooms and atmosphere, we really didn't want to leave. We'll be back.

Our two-bedroom apartment had a lovely sea view, spacious rooms, and everything we needed in the kitchen. We came at the start of the season, and both the sea and pool were great even in early May. There were enough sunbeds, and 22C was plenty to get sunburned, so use sun cream :-) Breakfast had loads of sweet choices, croissants, cakes and fresh fruit, though eggs and bacon were available too. I just wish it ran later than 9:30, since we had to set an alarm every morning. Most other places and restaurants in capo vaticano were still closed. Some mornings we also heard noise from preparations next door, depending on where your apartment is and when you visit. Still, it was one of our best family holidays. The 2000km journey was worth it :)

We spent a week at Villaggio il Gabbiano from April 25 – May 3, on a family trip with our parents and two couples, staying in Rooms 8 Bis and 03 with full board and sea views. It felt like a dream. The village and its garden were immaculate, and the beach had clear water and soft sand that reminded us of the Maldives. Meals were a real surprise, with elegant presentation and quality that had us comparing them with our favorite five-star hotel in Torino, which has two restaurants, including a Michelin-starred one. The prices are completely different, of course. Domenico and Massimo were so warm and attentive in the restaurant, and made every meal special. Another colleague made a stunning cake for my mothers in law birthday in 5 mins. I'm sorry I can't remember their name, and wanted to say thank you. Leaving for the airport felt like saying goodbye to family. The bar was also impressive, good value with generous aperitivo and expertly made drinks. Their Spritz became our daily treat. By the pool, the sun loungers were so comfortable that we photographed the brand to find some for home. A mattress topper could be nice for anyone who prefers softer beds, though that's just personal preference. Thank you to the whole Villaggio il Gabbiano team. We cherished the stay.

From our room to the pool was probably 25 meters, then another 10 to the beach. It's a lovely hotel right by the sea, with plenty of ways to relax, good breakfast and parking at the hotel about 50 meters away. Our room had a spacious terrace, and we enjoyed snorkeling in the beautiful water. With some luck you might spot the Stromboli. The entertainment team was nice too, especially the Salsa teacher.
