A really awful experience. The room and pool were much smaller than they looked in the photos. The pool was full of bugs and so much chlorine that I couldn't keep my eyes open above the water, and it never got cleaned. There was dog poop on our balcony, which smelled bad, and the bathroom drain stank. We also found ants on the floor. Traffic and noise kept us awake at night. Breakfast was okay, but having three employees watch and follow us the whole time felt very uncomfortable. The worst part happened after checkout. The host said we could use the pool and kitchen, and her husband had allowed us to use the kitchen. When we went to heat water for our baby, the hostess screamed at us, saying we should have asked before using it. She kept yelling at us and at her employee, loudly enough to be heard throughout the house. The way she spoke to us was disrespectful and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend staying here. Stay away!

A modern, really nice place at reasonable prices. The owner was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good, and there was a nice pool and a playground my son loved.

The outside of La Rocca Scavata looks old and quite plain, but inside it's been tastefully renovated and kept very clean. We had a very pleasant stay, and the breakfast was exceptional for Italy, with free-range eggs and high-quality products 😀. The owner and staff were friendly and gave us great suggestions for restaurants and things to see nearby. It's about 20 minutes from the center of Trapani and Marsala, convenient if you'd rather stay away from busy, noisy city centers. I highly recommend it.
